Welcome to Merimieskirkon Kahvila, a delightful little café in the heart of Brussels, nestled on Rue Jacques de Lalaing 33. This charming spot is not just a café; it’s a slice of Finland brought to the vibrant streets of Belgium. With a warm and inviting atmosphere, Merimieskirkon Kahvila offers a unique blend of Finnish delicacies and a cozy ambiance that will have you feeling right at home.

The café is celebrated for its delectable Finnish pastries, among which the cinnamon buns take center stage. Customers rave about them, describing them as the perfect companions for a leisurely afternoon coffee or a delightful lunch. Imagine biting into a freshly baked bun, the sweet aroma wafting through the air, and the warmth melting in your mouth—pure bliss! Other Finnish specialties grace the menu as well, ensuring there’s something to tempt every palate.

One particularly enchanted visitor, Angelika Arndt, expressed how much the café reminded her of her homeland with its cozy decor and harmonious vibes: “Ein schöner gemütlichen Ort.. vieles erinnert mich an die Zeiten in Finnland.” Her praise highlights the friendly service and vast selection of Finnish specialties that Merimieskirkon Kahvila offers, making your visit not just a meal, but an experience. Kacper Sokolowski couldn’t hold back his enthusiasm either, declaring their buns as “the best,” and you’ll soon understand why after your first bite.

As a wholesome café and shop, Merimieskirkon Kahvila is perfect for a casual lunch or a traditional Finnish “fika” (a coffee break that includes pastries). However, do keep in mind that it can get quite busy around lunchtime, so arrive early to secure your spot!

Atte Grönroos beautifully sums up the experience by saying it feels like “a small piece of Finnish heaven in Brussels.” The delightful staff are always ready to assist, guiding you through their offerings with genuine warmth. Beyond delicious treats, there's an opportunity to purchase everyday Finnish products that are hard to find elsewhere. Plus, for those seeking relaxation, there’s even the chance to enjoy a traditional Finnish sauna in the basement.

In essence, Merimieskirkon Kahvila is more than just a café; it’s a hub of Finnish culture in Brussels where the flavors of Finland meet the local charm of Belgium. Whether you're looking to indulge in mouthwatering pastries, enjoy a relaxing afternoon with friends, or explore Finnish products, this café is bound to become your new cherished spot. Your taste buds will thank you!

So, next time you find yourself wandering the streets of Brussels, make sure to stop by Merimieskirkon Kahvila. Trust us—this is one Finnish experience you won’t want to miss!

Wholesome little café/ shop, perfect for lunch or fika, although it can be quite busy around lunch time and seating is limited. Highly recommend the cinnamon buns!

A small piece of Finnish heaven in Brussels. Here you can find traditional Finnish food and delicacies as well as purchase every day Finnish products not found outside the country. Absolutely wonderful staff who will guide you around and make your day better. There is also the opportunity to visit the traditional Finnish sauna located in the basement and also have a barbecue with the help of the grill located in the backyard (make sure to check when the sauna is available beforehand).
